What motivates people to do the things they do? How can we change behaviors to solve problems and find answers to the questions we ask? Stephen Dubner, author of pop-economics books such as “Freakonomics,” addressed these issues at the Qualtrics Insight Summit in Salt Lake City. He talked about a study that tracked doctors’ responses to different incentives aimed at increasing their hand-washing frequency. The study found that simple sensory cues were the most effective motivational tools.
